Foreign Ministry to have NGO refrain from accepting subsidies

TOKYO, Japan - Masao Toyama, head of the Japan Association for Greening Deserts, a Japanese nongovernmental organization (NGO) helping China in reforestation projects, speaks at a news conference in Tottori, western Japan, on Feb. 24. The Japanese Foreign Ministry will demand that the NGO, found to have falsified documents to receive government subsidies last year, refrain from accepting the subsidies for fiscal 2002.
